- Member of the Swiss Chemical Society as well as of the European Academy of Science and was elected honorary member of the Société Vaudoise de Sciences Naturelles.

- PhD in Engineering from Osaka University in Japan, has had a distinguished career as a Professor at Osaka University and as a Guest Professor at the Kwansei Gakuin University and the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. He is currently a Guest & Emeritus Professor at the Osaka University’s Center for Advanced Science and Innovation (CASI).
- Trustee of the Association for the Progress of New Chemistry - Japan and a member of both the Japan and American Chemical Society, The Society of Polymer Science, The Japanese Photochemistry Association, The Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry - Japan, The Electrochemical Society of Japan and the International Microwave Power Institute.
